if it wasn't apparent, i've been away from my art for about two months now taking a small break. in the mean time i've mostly just been playing a lot of minecraft and making interesting or pretty buildings to pass the time--even in my other hobbies i really enjoy making stuff. i've even been working on a custom mod pack though i keep running into the same three or four problems that i don't know how to fix on my own and i've decided to take a break from testing the pack on and off and instead return to art until the inspiration strikes me to keep working on my game stuff.
with any luck and a pinch of energy, hopefully i'll be able to finish a piece i started in early february and post it here and on my social media; but it requires some patience on my part.
in other news, i've decided to drastically cut my tumblr usage down. this decision comes in part due to my own mental health but also just because i was never on board with tumblr's constant refusal to address user concerns, the mass ban of adult content (which has its own massive problems in its implementation), the abandonment of the platform by several inspirations of mine, the attitude of the remaining userbase, and some personal issues i've had in the past with the platform have finally tipped the scale against them. i'm honestly really sad to leave. tumblr as a platform was always a great way for me to find new artists and never failed to make me laugh way harder than i ever should when i was struggling. i joined tumblr on december 6th in 2011 and after seven long years i've decided to just remove it from my life. it's really not worth the trouble anymore. my accounts will still be online and i'll be maintaining some private long-term side blogs i've had so i can at least prevent my urls from being taken up, but aside from that it'll be mostly radio silence from that corner of my social media.
i'm legitimately super sad it came to this. i really loved tumblr as a platform and there's still nothing quite like it. i'll be on pillowfort and i'll try my hand at twitter, but like i said: it's just not quite the same.
